I've been wanting to have a platform bed instead of the headboard. I found the South Shore full platform bed on Amazon.com and so decided to purchase it. It was a big package. At first it looks like a daunting job of assembling the plaform: how am I gonna assemble this platform by myself, I asked. Thank god the assembling instructions were clear and the pieces were labelled nicely according to the instructions, thus making the assembling work much easier. The only difficult part is carrying/lifting the pieces of heavy woods. Although I managed to assemble the platform by myself within an hr, I still suggest having two persons becasue the woods are big and heavy (considering the size of the plaform). I got a couple of cuts while lifting the pieces together. After the hard work, the platform was assembled nicely; it looks great and fits well with my full sized mattress. I was proud of my work and definitely very pleased with the platform. It was worth buying the South Shore platform.

Got this bed for my 8 year old step-son's room. When he's not here, the room sits empty, so we didn't want to spend a lot on a bed that only gets used no more than 8 or 9 weeks out of the year. My husband put it together in less than an hour by himself. The instructions recommend using a screw driver instead of a drill, but he used one anyway and it was fine. When buying this, you should know that it's particle board, so if you're expecting wood or prefer wood, look elsewhere. The color of the bed looks more like a dark brown rather than black. The box was very heavy, but arrived intact and nothing broken, ripped or missing. All of the pieces lined up just fine. I found this bed on other popular stores' sites, and they all charged a lot for shipping. Gave it 5 stars due to free shipping and good price.
